? about shelves for GOML (strange!)

I was thinking of buying the shelf risers for the GOML shelves (I have already bought this) I can not figure out how these work! They look like they would fall over without the center piece.

Can they be mounted on a wall? I have a collection of small disney figures that are grouped in families by movie and one family would fit on a riser if I knew how they worked.

I feel really stupid, I'm sure the risers are not that dificult to figure out. Must be Monday or something

Dont feel bad. I didn't understand these either when I first looked at them, I though they went on either side of the side units themselves, making the entire unit longer. It was only when I unpacked them again recently and tried to figure it out again that I got it straight.

Duh! They are "risers". They go on TOP of the side shelves, so that dolls displayed will be a little higher than on the shelves themselves. Get it? It took me awhile too.

Unfortunately, I don't think they work too well though. I haven't mounted our shelves yet, although I do plan to when I give my dd the GOML dolls. I think they will be kind of cramped that way. So, with the code, I did order another full shelf set since you couldn't beat the price. I don't think I'll end up using the risers at all, but I originally only paid $9 for them, so not too much of a loss.

Let me know if you get it figured out now.

ps. go to the website and click on the picture of the display shelves (not the risers). Go to the "view item larger" and on the 2nd page, it shows you how the risers are on TOP of the shelves.

OH!! Lightbulb moment here! I thought they were extra shelves to put more dolls on. So they just raise the dolls higher, you can't put more dolls on the risers can you? My Disney Figures are tiny and they look cute if they are grouped together. The risers would have been perfect if they were shelves! LOL

Aryn, YES, you can put more dolls on them. Small dolls would probably be fine, but for the costumes of the GOML's it doesnt leave much room. The doll on the lower level would stand "in front" of the doll on the higher level and it detracts from their costuming. I think it's because the GOML's costumes are so full.

You'd have to actually give it a try with the dolls you wanted to use. Since I have all 8 of the GOML's, I will put them on the side shelves of the 2 sets I have, and on the center piece of each, I might put Russian Princess Barbies that are collectibles for my dd. I'll have to see how they look.
